Do you want a smoke-free pregnancy?

We’re supporting Northumbria Healthcare’s new campaign to encourage pregnant smokers to quit to give their baby the best start in life.
Stopping smoking as soon as possible in pregnancy reduces the risk of pre-term birth, still birth and having a baby who does not grow normally.

For many people, stopping smoking can seem like a huge hurdle and, while we know it’s hard, it is possible. Laura was a heavy smoker when she found out she was pregnant and has shared her experience of quitting in pregnancy and the support she received. You can watch her video below.

If you, or someone you know is a pregnant smoker, please speak to a midwife or visit northumbria.nhs.uk/smokefree-pregnancy for more information on the support available.
