Covid/Flu Vaccines Autumn 2023

We are now sending invite to patients to attend for their Autumn Covid and Flu Vaccines.

Text messages will be sent out over the coming weeks, with the most vulnerable patients being prioritised first. If you have received a text message, please follow the link to book you vaccination appointment. If you are unable to find an appointment that is suitable, please be aware we will be adding more clinics throughout Autumn.

If you do not wish to have the vaccine, please let us know so we can keep your medical record up to date.

You can also call the surgery to book you vaccine however, please be aware call volumes at this time are high.

Book your X-Ray Online

If you are over 16, and have been referred for an x-ray, you can now book your appointment online.

Follow the steps below to book your x-ray appointment:

  1. Scan the QR code to book onto our patient portal
  2. Select the hospital, date and time that suits you
  3. Enter your details
  4. Confirmation will be sent via text or email

If you need to cancel you appointment, please call 0344 811 811 and request to be out through to the x-ray department at your chosen hospital.

Pharmacy UTI Service

Pharmacies can now offer patients easy access to advice and treatments for Urinary Tract Infections (UTIs).

The scheme, aimed at women aged 16-64, enables local community pharmacists to treat patients with a UTI without the need for a GP appointment or prescription.

UTIs are one of the most common bacterial infections seen in female patients, with over 40 percent of women likely to suffer from one in their lifetime. Symptoms include:

  • Burning or stinging sensation when passing urine
  • Needing to pass urine frequently or urgently
  • Cloudy urine
  • Passing excessive or large quantities of urine.

If you think you may have a UTI go to your local pharmacy first.

Self-referral Physiotherapy

North Tyneside Integrated Musculoskeletal Service (NTIMS), run by Northumbria Healthcare, has launched a new self-referral process.

NTIMS is a service that helps people with problems relating to muscles, bones, nerves and joints.

To access the service, please visit www.northumbria.nhs.uk/ntims to find a referral form plus a wide range of self-care guidance.

Diabetic Eye Screening

Diabetes is the second largest cause of preventable blindness in adults, so don’t lose sight of your screening appointment and miss the wonders of the world.

From 1st April 2023, the North of Tyne and Gateshead Diabetic Eye Screening Programme will be provided by InHealth Intelligence Ltd.
If you use this service, you will be invited to your next screening appointment. You do not need to do anything.

Your screening records will be securely transferred to InHealth Intelligence Ltd. This will be supported by NHS England North East and Yorkshire to ensure that your individual data and screening history is held securely and only accessible by the healthcare professionals directly involved in your care.
